Stowe Winter Carnival
January 18–24, 2010: Celebrate winter with activities ranging from zany sports events, Ice Carving Competitions, movies, Kids Carnival Kaos and the infamous Village Night Block Party.

Snowmobile Tours and Services
5,000-mile magical highway appears in Vermont each winter for snowmobilers. It crosses public and private land and makes some of this world’s most spectacular vistas of nature accessible to snow travelers.

Burke Mountain Sled Dog Dash
February 27–28, 2010: In just its second year, the event drew 99 teams from New England, New York, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Michigan, Quebec, and Ontario while raising $25,000. We hope that you take the opportunity to explore the beauty of East Burke, Vermont and join us for this event!

Green Mountain Film Festival
Montpelier, March 19–28, 2010: Public showings of films with cultural, social and historic interest; discussions of the films with the directors and/or producers and is an opportunity for independent filmmakers to exhibit their works.

Open Studio Weekend
Memorial Day Weekend - Statewide: Take a behind-the-scenes look into the working studios of more than 200 Vermont craftspeople. Maps and prominent signs point the way.

 

Summer

Vermont Biking Tours
Ride at your own pace from inn to inn and enjoy fine food and great lodging, supported by a van that moves your luggage and serves as your traveling snack bar and bike repair shop. Bike the most beautiful and least traveled corners of our special world.

Northfield Country Club
A beautiful manicured 9 hole championship golf course with bent grass greens, native sand bunkers, gently rolling hills, and the Dog River running through it. This is a challenging golf course both for the experienced and novice golfer.

 

Autumn

Stowe Foliage Arts Festival
This annual show is widely known as a festive marketplace. In addition to the juried Fine Art and Craft exhibitors, the ambiance is fueled by diverse and delicious food fare, live entertainment, and an amazing array of kids’ activities.

Cabot Apple Pie Festival
Annual apple pie judging, categories for kids and adults, prizes (entry fee). Pies must be entered by 10:30 a.m. Lunch and pies for sale. Craft fair. Live music. Cider pressing - free samples of cider and apple tasting. Silent auction. 50-50 raffle. Pumpkin carving on Cabot Common at 2 p.m.: an attempt to break the Guinness record for simultaneous carving. Pumpkin pies and snacks for sale at carving. Kids' activities. Free parking & admission. Benefits the Cabot Historical Society.

Vermont Antique Festival
Located in the heart of the scenic Quechee Gorge, features 60 dealer outdoor antique show, free parking and admission. Shop indoor antiques mall featuring over 400 dealers and Vermont Toy and Train Museum.

 

Seasonal Activities

In spring and summer, guests can relax on the porch and enjoy the beauty and fragrance of lush cascading vines, rose bushes and apple blossoms that adorn the exterior of the Inn.

In autumn, the air grows crisp and the hills and mountains turn crimson and gold with fall foliage. Many foliage tours are available, including popular self-paced driving routes.

Snow season presents a host of winter activities and a network of trails for cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and snow machining. Norwich University also offers entertainment and sporting events during the season.
